History

This medal was conferred upon members of the Bangladesh Forces, including citizen members, who fought for a minimum period of 21 days.

Some collectors believe that this award was also awarded to members of the Bangladesh Armed Forces who fought during the early guerrilla phases of the Bangladesh Liberation War of 1971.

The alternate spelling may be Rana Taraka. This medal may also be known as the Campaign Star.

The obverse features Bengali script.
