History

This medal was conferred upon members of the Bangladesh Forces, including citizen soldiers, who fought inside Bangladesh. It may also have been awarded to members of the Bangladesh Armed Forces who served in the guerrilla phases of the Liberation War of 1971.

The medal may also be known as the War Medal.

The obverse features Bengali script.
