Physical Description and Item Details


A large grand cross sash badge in silver gilt, consisting of a white four armed star, each arm composed of a cluster of three rays, three plum blossoms in each quadrant, obverse centre presenting the taeguk in blue and red enamels with red enameled sun burst surround, a large suspension consisting of a large Hibiscus flower with five green enameled leaves, reverse with a mirrored presentation, crazing evident in the red enameled rays on both sides, accompanied by an incorrect full-length modern sash.

History


This Order was established by Emperor Kwangmu. It was conferred upon individuals who had previously received the Grand Cordon of the Taeguk Order of Merit.

This Order is almost identical in design to the Order of the Golden Ruler. The only difference is that the taeguk is oriented horizontally.
