History

This order, also known as "Darjah Kebesaran Jiwa Mahkota Kelantan Yang Amat Mulia" and more often "the Star of Ismail" was established by Sultan Ismail in 1925. It is awarded for self-sacrifice and taking life-risking situations, and for promoting business enterprises. There is an honourary membership for foreigners. The Knight Grand Commander is limited to fifty recipients.

The Knight Grand Commander presents five flame-like arms of blue and white enamel, with a center medallion with a Jawi cypher surrounded by a blue enamelled ring bearing an inscription. It was worn on a sash or the collar, depending on the occasion.
