History

This medal is conferred upon all members of the Sri Lanka Armed Forces and the Sri Lanka Police who have served in Vavuniya, Killinochchi, Mullaitivu, Mannar. Batticaloa, Trincomalee and Ampara since September 16, 1983 and Jaffna since July 22, 1977.
