Albania, State. An Order of Partisan Star in Gold, I Class, Number 2
(Urdhëri Ylli Partizan). Instituted 9 July 1945. The badge is a 5-pointed Gold-rimmed, red-enamelled star, in 22k Gold, resting on a garland consisting of a pair of crossed tobacco leaves, the reverse is hand-inscribed with the number “2,” presents a large unmarked screw plate (32 mm), measures 39.44 mm (w) x 42.55 mm (h), weighs 42.5 g, and in mint condition, accompanied by period original presentation case.
This Order was awarded in recognition of merit, heroic actions, and leadership in wartime and against fascism.
The Order was conferred upon Officers within the People's Army, personnel from the Ministry of Internal Affairs, and collective units within the Armed Forces. The awards could also be awarded to women and foreign citizens.
The Order may also be known as the Order of the Guerrilla Star.
