History

The Order of the Labour Star was established in 1939 by the Lithuanian Chamber of Commerce, Industry, and Trade. It was never formally recognised as an official state award, and it is presumed to have been suppressed in 1940 along with all other Lithuanian awards. It was awarded to Lithuanian citizens for merit in industry, business, craft, and economics.

The II Class Medal features a reverse inscription that translates to “For Merit, To the Prosperity of Lithuania.” A total of 11 II Class Medals were awarded in 1939.

See also the Medal of the Labour Star in the Medals & Decorations of the Republic of Lithuania (1918-1940) for the medal that was created alongside the Order of the Labour Star.
