History


This Order was established by King Nikola I of Montenegro in commemoration of the 200th anniversary of rule of the Royal House of Petrovic-Nejegos. It is awarded to members of the Montenegrin Royal Family and kinsmen.

The obverse features the Cyrillic initial "D" which represents Danilo I, the Cyrillic initial "N" which represents Nicholas I, and the obverse is also dated.

There is currently only one surviving specimen of this Order which is held in the State Museum at Cetnje.
