The Military Cross was established by the Republic of Poland in 2007. It is awarded to members of the Polish Armed Forces, police officers, firefighters, and members of the Internal Security Agency, Intelligence Agency, Military Intelligence Service, Military Counterintelligence Service, Central Anti-corruption Bureau, Border Guard, and Government Protection Bureau for exceptional service in fighting terrorism at home or abroad. It may be awarded to the same recipient up to four times, in which case each additional award is denoted by a bar ribbon clasp.
The Bronze Cross features a reverse inscription that can be translated to "To Gallantry and Valour."
