The Order of the Victory of the Romanian Revolution of December 1989 was established in 1996 in commemoration of the Romanian Revolution of 1989. It was conferred upon Romanian citizens who participated in the Revolution. In the official legislation, they are called “Martyr Heroes.” It was also awarded posthumously.
