1947-1952 Issue. Featuring the Romanian Socialist coat-of-arms in red, light blue, dark blue, yellow, light green, dark green and white enamels, mounted to a circular silver base, measuring 33.5 mm, original ribbon, mounted to a five-sided magnetic metal suspension with pinback, in its hardshelled case of issue, marked "5 ANIVERSARE A REPUBLICII POPULARE ROMANE" on the lid, recessed medal bed); very fine.
The Medal of the 5th Anniversary of the Romanian People's Republic was created in commemoration of the 5th anniversary of the establishment of the Romanian People's Republic. It was awarded to Romanian citizens in recognition of meritorious contributions to its foundation.
The Silver Medal features an obverse inscription that translates to "Five Years," and a reverse inscription that translates to "5th Anniversary of the Romanian People's Republic."
