This decoration was founded by Victor Emmanuel III to recognize the meritorious efforts and contributions by Italian farmers that resulted in the growth of national agriculture. The decoration was discontinued in 1944.
The Silver Star was meant to reward distinguished agricultural results and efforts, and it was restricted to 50 recipients per year.
These decorations may be stamped with engraver and manufacturer marks, including "SIAM ROMA," "75 GE," and "7 TO," or have no marks at all.
