Physical Description and Item Details


An ovular medal constructed of bronze, the obverse bears the portraits of Alfonso XIII and Victoria Eugenia, with the inscription BARCELONA 11 DICIEMBRE MCMXX / ALFONSO XIII VICTORIA EUGENIA, encompassed by a laurel wreath, with a pillar on both sides, the reverse bears the image of Mary and baby Jesus with a coat of arms on either side, with the inscription XX ANOS DE SU REINADO / CONMEMORACION POR LOS SOMATENES, with a crown suspension, on a purple, red and yellow striped ribbon.

The Catalonian Someten Militia Medal for XXth Anniversary of Alfonso XIII was established on March 17, 1924 to commemorate the date that the Medal of Constancy of Somaten was imposed on Alfonso XIII.
