The Medal of Bagur and Palamos was authorized by the Supreme Junta of Catalonia and the General-in-chief of the Army of Catalonia, at the request of Marshal Don Carlos Doile, who led the Battles of Bagur and Palamos on the 10th and 24th of September, 1810, respectively.
The Medal was conferred upon Officers and men of the British frigate Cambriand who defeated the French troops who occupied the ports of Bagur and Palamos in Catalonia.
There were made eight Gold Medals for Senior Officers; eighty-two Silver Medals for Officers, and one-hundred thirty-three Bronze Medals for the troops.
The Medal features an obverse inscription that could be translated to "Eternal Alliance," and a reverse inscription that could be translated to "Bagur 10th of September, Palamos 14th of September, Spanish gratitude to British intrepidity."
