A fine example of a “Ehrenzeichen vom Roten Kreuz Bronzene Medaille”; an oval bronze medallion with red, white and green enamels; the obverse with a central white enameled medallion depicting a red cross, inscribed “Patriae ac Humanitati” (Latin - Country and Humanity); on loop for suspension from its period original ladies’ bow; measuring 30.08 mm (w) x 51.82 mm (h); weighing 24.5 grams; in overall extremely fine condition.
When the decoration is awarded to women it is worn on a bow ribbon.
