The Medal of Honour for Acts of Dedication During Mining Accidents was awarded to Belgian citizens in recognition of courageous and meritorious service during mining accidents. It discontinued in 1867 when it was replaced by the Civic Decoration.
There are three versions of the Gold Medal. All three versions have an obverse inscription that translates to “Leopold the First, King of the Belgians,” and a reverse inscription that translates to “Acts of Devotion, National Award.” The second version differs slightly in engraving, and the third version is surmounted by a mural crown.
