The Dardanelles Campaign Medal was created on June 15, 1926. It was awarded to soldiers and sailors of the Expeditionary Corps who fought in the Dardanelles campaign between April 6, 1915 and December 20, 1915.
The obverse inscription translates to “French Republic,” and the reverse inscription translates to “Dardanelles, Honour and Fatherland.”
Some medals may be encountered with clasps, however these "DARDANELLES" clasps are unofficial and were manufactured by private firms. There may also be additional versions which vary in size or composition.
