The Medal for Customs Officers (Indochina) was created on June 26, 1900. It was awarded by the Governor General of Indochina to both native and European Customs Officers for 15 years of service, or for exceptional acts of courage performed while on duty.
The obverse inscription translates to “French Indochina,” and the reverse inscription translates to “Honour and Merit, Customs and Excise.”
The Indochina Medal was replaced on June 19, 1939 by the Medal of Honour for Colonial Customs. See Medal of Honour for Colonial Customs for more information.
The medal may vary in composition or manufacturer.
