Physical Description and Item Details


A rectangular bar constructed of silver, on a green ribbon bar with white stripes. The bar features a central Roman numeral "XV" within the inscription "ALEX CARL". Weighing 7.1 grams.

History


The Long Service Bar was established in March 24, 1847 by Duke Alexander Carl. The bar was awarded to Non-Commissioned Officers, military surgeons, members of the police force, and Enlisted Men. The II Class Bar was awarded to those who who rendered 15 years of military service. The awarding of the Long Service Bar ended on May 8, 1864.

A total of 52 I Class Bars were awarded.
