Cuff titles were similar to armbands, except often stating a more specific and specialised purpose of the wearer. They were significantly smaller than armbands, didn’t necessarily go all the way around the arm, and were worn on the lower part of the left sleeve.
Members of the HJ who served as volunteer war auxiliaries in the Kriegsmarine wore a blue cotton cuff title with the golden-yellow Gothic letters “Marinehelfer” (Navy Auxiliary).
After nine months of service, good conduct and good performance, they could be promoted to “Marineoberhelfer” (Senior Navy Auxiliary). The cuff title bears said rank title and features golden-yellow stripes on the top and bottom.
These cuff titles were not worn by auxiliaries who held leader ranks in the HJ.
