History


The National Blood Merit Medal was established by Ordinance on July 30, 1993. It is awarded to Monegasque citizens in recognition of dedication to donating blood.

From 1993-2003, the II Class Medal was awarded for 60 donations, but since 2003, it has been awarded for 50 donations.

The II Class Medal features a portrait of Rainier III on the obverse and a drop of blood on the reverse. The obverse inscription translates to "Rainier III, Prince of Monaco," and the reverse inscription translates to "National Merit for Blood."
