A Dutch Kosovo Medal 2000 - Bronze gilt, 29.8 mm, original ribbon, light contact, near extremely fine.
The Kosovo Medal was established by Ministerial Decree in 2000 but was permanently discontinued in 2015. It was established to quell the massive discontent that arose when many of these returning military personnel did not qualify for the Commemorative Medal for Multinational Peacekeeping Operations due to missing its service requirements by a few days.
It was awarded to Dutch military personnel in recognition of service in Kosovo and is permitted for wear on military uniforms.
The Bronze Medal features a reverse inscription that translates to "In Gratitude, The Minister of Defence, Kosovo."
