The Red Cross Medal of Merit was established by Royal Decree in 1914. It is awarded to individuals in recognition of meritorious services rendered to or through the Dutch Red Cross.
There are three versions of the Silver Medal that differ in inscription. The first and third versions feature a reverse inscription that translates to "Dutch Red Cross," but they differ in spelling. The second version features a reverse inscription that translates to "For Loyalty and Devotion."
