History

Awarded by the Ministry of Defence of the Republic of Slovenia, this Medal is conferred upon employees, military personnel, and institutions of the Slovenian Armed Forces in recognition of outstanding devotion to duty and long service, as well as, for an exceptional contribution to strengthening the reputation of the Ministry of Defence.

This Medal may be conferred posthumously.

This Medal is awarded with crossed swords when conferred for recognition in regards to meritorious war effort.

The reverse of the medal is engraved with the full name and date of conferral.

The Gold Medal is conferred upon leading employees of the ministry, units, institutions, headquarters and members of the Slovenian Armed Forces, as well as, relevant individuals who have rendered an extraordinarily crucial contribution to the reputation and development of the Ministry, and rendered extraordinary success in completing tasks that enhance and strengthen the Slovenian Republic's defense system.

Foreigners that are eligible to receive this Medal include high ranking military, heads of foreign military delegation.
