History

Awarded by the Ministry of Defence of the Republic of Slovenia, this Medal is conferred upon employees, military personnel, and institutions of the Slovenian Armed Forces in recognition of outstanding devotion to duty and long service, as well as, for an exceptional contribution to strengthening the reputation of the Ministry of Defence.

This Medal may be conferred posthumously.

This Medal is awarded with crossed swords when conferred for recognition in regards to meritorious war effort.

The reverse of the medal is engraved with the full name and date of conferral.

The Silver Medal is conferred upon individuals who have rendered remarkable contributions to the reputation and enhancement of the ministry, as well as to employees of the ministry and members of the Slovenian Armed Forces who during defence duties, or in the execution of army duties, have distinguished themselves beyond expectation.

Foreigners that are eligible to receive this Medal include high ranking foreign delegation members.
