    History

The Burma Star was instituted by King George VI in May 1945 to reward members of the British and Commonwealth forces for service in Burma between December 11, 1941, and September 2, 1945.

The clasp, “PACIFIC”, which denotes additional awards of the Pacific Star, was also authorized for wear with the Burma Star. A silver rosette designating the award of the clasp was worn on the ribbon when the ribbon was worn alone.
