History

The Kabul to Kandahar Star was established on March 19, 1881. The Medal was awarded to Officers, Non-Commissioned Officers, and enlisted men of the British and Indian Armies for participation in the march from Kabul to Kandahar led by General Roberts from August 9 - August 31, 1881.

The Medal was manufactured from the bronze of guns captured at the Battle of Kandahar. All were issued named, however different styles of typeface were used.
