The Tibet Medal was established on February 1, 1905 and awarded to mostly Indian and some British troops who served in the 1903-1904 trade expedition to Tibet. The Tibet Medal was generally awarded in Silver, but camp followers and members of the Peshawur Camel Corps received the Medal in Bronze. A clasp that reads, “GYANTSE” was awarded to recipients who took part in operations near Gyantse between May 3 and July 6, 1904.
A variety of different naming styles were used.
