Fittings from aluminium, red brown wooden grip with nickeled eagle, corroded blade with maker "Karl Burgsmüller Berlin" and with the motto "Mehr sein als scheinen", crossguard without stamping, rusty steel scabbard with rests of the original olive green painting, with cromed fittings, with chain from aluminium, the snap hook with makers logo "OLC" and with stamping "ges. gesch.", heavier worn, very scarce.
The NPEA Leader Dagger with Chain Hanger is similar to the chainless Leader Dagger, which in turn is similar to the Student Dagger. These daggers are of the same design as the standard political daggers, for example the SA dagger.
The main difference to the Student Dagger is the eagle emblem on the obverse of the grip, and the main difference to the regular Leader Dagger is the scabbard, which features three metal scabbard fittings, with the chain hanger attached to the upper and middle fitting.
Etched into the obverse blade is the NPEA motto: “Mehr sein als scheinen” (Be more than you appear to be).
The crossguard can be marked with a control number.
The dagger was owned by the school and had to be returned upon reassignment.
