Every member of the HJ who successfully completed a six week course was qualified to wear the basic medical insignia.
The Feldscher-HJ (Medical Hitler Youth) ceased to exist as a separate unit with the beginning of the war. However, medical insignia were still given out to those members of the HJ specialising in medical training.
All Medical HJ insignia were worn on the lower left sleeve.
The First Aid Insignia shows a red Aesculapius staff with a red “U” on left and a red “D” (for "Unfall-Dienst", accident service) on the right on a round white field.
