This insignia shows a horizontal Wolfsangel (wolf hook, historic wolf trap) on a carmine rhomboid. There is also an example of a silver-grey Wolfsangel on a red oval field. The difference in wear between the two is unknown.

Adjutants assigned to a political leader wore an insignia with a royal blue field.

The insignia was worn on the lower left sleeve.
