Set of Early NSDAP “County/District” Leader collar boards; silver bullion wire intertwined into a chord; with loop overhanging the tan cloth backer; double triple-thread knot, signifying rank of Kreisleiter; some adhesive residue on one of the collar tabs, otherwise very fine condition.
The uniforms, headgear, and insignia of the National Socialist German Workers’ Party (Nationalsozialistische Deutsche Arbeiterpartei or NSDAP) went through several design changes from 1933 until the end of the Second World War. Dr. Ley, originally the Gauleiter of Rheinland and later promoted to the position of chief of staff of Party Organization and Reich Organization Leader, was largely responsible for the NSDAP rank system and uniforms.
The shoulder boards were only utilized for regular NSDAP members for a short period of time, from 1932 until 1934.
The Kreisleiter Shoulder Boards feature a cloth base with silver-coloured cords (twisted wire) and two horizontal sections of silver-coloured cord (twisted wire).
