A silver cross pattée, the obverse centre presents an enamelled German Imperial coat of arms, bordered by a gilded wreath, the letters K F B appear on each of the top arms of the cross, the date 1914/18 on the six o’clock arm, reverse presents a vertical pinback, maker marked DESCHLER U. SOHN MÜNCHEN, marked GESETZL. GESCHÜTZT, measuring 41.52 mm (w) x 41.09 mm (h), weighing 16.8 grams, and in near very fine condition.
The Honour Cross of the German Front Fighters Association was awarded by an organization which was formed in 1922 and adhered to conservative right-wing ideology. The union was active until 1931, when it was disbanded due to lack of support.
The total number of badges conferred is unknown, although is it estimated that around 3,000 pieces were awarded.
