History

The Military Independence Medal was established on June 18, 1956. The Medal was presented to all members of the Egyptian Armed Forces who served on June 16, 1956. The Medal is available in 2 Classes. The I Class Medal is awarded to Commissioned Officers and cadets, while the II Class Medal is awarded to enlisted personnel and other ranks.

A brass star device is authorized to wear on the ribbon when the ribbon is worn alone.
