A silver medal, the obverse center bears an image of the sun and the moon on a green enamel background, above is a cedar tree and to the left are oak leaves and right are grains of wheat, the reverse bears the Arabic inscription MEDAL OF GENERAL SECURITY, with a bar for suspension, on a red, white and green striped ribbon.
The Medal of General Security was established on January 28, 1974, and is awarded to members of General Security, an intelligence agency and internal security force, in recognition of meritorious service. It may also be awarded to civilians, military personnel and the Internal Security Forces on an exceptional basis.
