Physical Description and Item Details


Consisting of five rays, with a five-pointed star between the rays, the obverse center consists of a caduceus superimposed on a cedar tree, the reverse center is inscribed with the Arabic phrase LEBANESE REPUBLIC - ORDER OF PUBLIC HEALTH MERIT, measuring 40 mm in diameter, ring suspension, on a yellow and red striped ribbon.

History


The Medal of Public Health Merit was instituted by Government Law on May 14, 1960. The Medal is awarded in 3 Grades in recognition of eminent services which benefit public health in Lebanon.
