Physical Description and Item Details


A circular medal constructed of silvered metal, the obverse top bears the Arabic inscription “Give Yourself to Build Generations”, below is a lit candle and some buildings, encompassed by a braided border, the reverse bears a cedar tree in the center with a sea and illuminating lighthouse, above bears the Arabic inscription LEBANESE REPUBLIC and below the Arabic inscription ORDER OF THE TEACHER, encompassed by a braided border, with a ring suspension, on a purple ribbon, measuring 35mm in diameter.

History


The Medal of Teacher was established by Government Law on August 3, 1982. The Medal is awarded in 3 Grades to members of Lebanese teaching staff in recognition of 10 years or more of private or public teaching service and good conduct.The Medal may also be awarded posthumously.

The I Class is in gilt.
The II Class is in silver.
The III Class is in bronze.
