An oblong silver medal, the obverse center bears the left-facing head of a soldier wearing a helmet with an olive branch, encompassed by a pearled border, the button bears the Arabic inscription MILITARY VALOUR ORDER, and below that are two laurel branches, above the soldier’s head is a diamond encompassing the emblem of the Lebanese Armed Forces over two upwards facing crossed rifles, the reverse is plain, with ring for suspension, on a red, white and blue striped ribbon.
The Military Valour Medal was established by Government Decree on August 18, 1971. The Medal is issued in 2 Grades to reward members of the Armed Forces for acts of bravery or for long and distinguished service. The Silver Medal is awarded to Officers, while the Bronze Medal is awarded to personnel of other ranks.
