History

The Navy Medal was instituted by Government Decree on January 7, 1974. The Medal is awarded in 4 Classes to Navy personnel in recognition of outstanding or long Navy service. The Medal may also be known as the "Lebanon Sea Medal" or the "Marine Medal."
