History


The Order of the Special Royal Emblem (Wisam Al-Saghir A'ait Al-Sultaniat al-Khasat) was instituted on November 18, 1985, in commemoration of the 15th anniversary of Sultan Qaboos' accession to the throne. The Order is awarded in 2 Grades to members of the Omani Military Force in recognition of loyal and faithful service.

The Silver Decoration is awarded to all expratriate Officers who provided service on the 15th National Day, on November 18, 1985.

The reverse features the dates "1970-1985" in Arabic numerals.
