The Peacekeeping Force Medal was instituted in 1999 and was awarded to military personnel of the UAE Armed Forces in recognition of service with the Albania Peace Keeping Force in 1999. Civilians and foreigners may also be eligible for the award in recognition of beneficial contributions to the United Arab Emirates deployment.
The Medal features an Arabic inscription on the obverse which translates to "Kosovo 1999" as well as on the reverse which translates to "The United State of the United Arab Emirates" and "Peace Keeping Force."
