Award Medal for the pacification of Polish Rebellion. 1863-1864. Silver. 28 mm. Hallmarked on a loop 84. Somewhat crudely made private manufacture. This medal was not supposed be struck in silver. Private issue. Apparently unpublished and Extremely rare.
This medal was instituted in commemoration of the conclusion of the Polish rebellion. It was conferred upon officers, non-commissioned officers, enlisted men, and militia, who had actively participated in the quelling of the rebellion.
The reverse inscription translates to: "For the Pacification of the Polish Rebellion 1863-1864".
