Constructed of silver, presenting as an eight-pointed radiant star with central medallion depicting profile of Queen Tamara of Georgia, circumscribed by name and title in Georgian script with date of “1915”, reverse with a barrel hinge, vertical pinback, and a round wire catch, unmarked.
The Order was awarded to members of the Georgian Legion, a voluntary unit within the German army, as well as members of the German Caucasus Expedition who fought in Georgia.
All German troops in the Caucasus who remained in Georgia after November 4, 1918 were eligible to receive this Order.
The Order awards were designed by German Lieutenant Horst Schliephack, and the majority were manufactured privately in Germany.
There was an estimated 1,400-5000 produced.
There is an inscription on the obverse.
An identical decoration is available in Georgia.
