The Medal for the Wounded is awarded to members of the People's National Army in recognition of wounds incurred during service or an act of bravery.
The Medal (with army citation) is conferred in recognition of wounds incurred from selfless acts performed in combat and features a ribbon with an embroidered gold star. The Medal without citation is awarded in recognition of wounds incurred in combat, or from acts of bravery performed in a military setting outside of combat.
