History

This Medal is conferred upon soldiers who by the end of their first training session and military service had displayed exemplary behaviour, and in doing so has been declared the "best soldier".

Recipients are eligible for promotion to Corporal after being conferred this Medal.

The reverse of this medal is engraved with the full name of the recipient and the year of conferral.
